As we continue the year enjoying art from behind our screens, we thought it’d be wise to prepare you for the next season of online art fairs. Pencil in these dates for your very own virtual visits.

MiArt, 11th–13th September

The MiArt international modern and contemporary art fair of Milan is first on our list. They have developed four thematic areas for their online platform based on modern, contemporary, emerging and collectable art and design. We always look forward to independent curator Attilia Fattorini Franchini’s gallery selections for the Emergent section featuring next generation artists, and this time the new online format suits Attilia’s digital art expertise to a T.

Liste Showtime, 14th – 20th September

Basel’s cooler counterpart will launch their own new online platform. 72 international galleries from 35 countries will each present one promising artist from their stable. Liste Showtime will be a great way for you to get up to speed on the latest in contemporary art. Some of the presentations we are looking forward to are Feng Chen at Capsule Shanghai and Joey Holder at Seventeen

Art Basel OVR:2020, 23rd– 26th September & OVR: 20c, 28th – 31st October

For the first time the grand dame of art fairs, Art Basel will grace our screens in not one, but two editions. The first iteration titled “OVR:2020” will be devoted to artworks produced during this momentous year of 2020. OVR:2020 will be open during late September. The section edition, titled “OVR: 2Oc” will exhibit works created between the years of 1900 and 1999 and will be open during late October. We’re looking forward to trying out the new live chat feature, which will enable you to make inquiries about works in real time.

Latitude Art Fair, 24th–27th September

Partnering with Artsy, the Latitude Art Fair will also be jumping online to exhibit and celebrate 53 Brazilian galleries. Reshaping its plans for the year ahead, Latitude Art Fair aims to offer its galleries the necessary support to adapt to this new art market landscape. So, what can we expect to see online? We can anticipate a range of viewing rooms, a function for sales inquiries, chances for collector conversations, and a rather exciting aspect of augmented reality.

1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, 8th – 10th October

Setting themselves apart from most of their London counterparts, the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair will return for an IRL fair in October. There will also be an 1-54 virtual experience powered by Christie’s, which will give you the opportunity to view additional works displayed by participating galleries as well as highlights from the fair itself.

Frieze London, 9th – 16th of October

Staying in London, virtually at least, we are also looking forward to Frieze’s second online edition on the 9th of October. The second edition of Frieze Viewing Room will bring new developments to the user experience, including an updated web-based platform and app.

The Other Art Fair, ongoing

Closer to home, The Other Art Fair has opened online studios for both Melbourne and Sydney artists. Partnering with Saatchi Art, these online studios allow you to explore hundreds of artist profiles and purchase art virtually. For those entry-level art enthusiasts out there, The Other Art Fair is an easy, accessible way to start your foray into the world of buying art.
